Product Brief Description

L&Z rod is designed for racing high performance engine, with forged 4340 steel(40CrNiMoA/EN24), aluminum alloy(7075-T6), titanium(GR5) material. Beam style: H beam, I beam, X beam, IQ beam, A beam. Our rod has covered 98% popular racing model.

Custom design is accepted, such as beam design, rifled drill, pointed end(knife edge), oil hole.

Process:

Quenching and high temperature tempering and carburizing. Our rods go through a very extensive heat treat, tempering, and cryogenic treatment process

Different beam characteristics

1.Most commonly used are H beam and I beam styles. Less common are A beam and X beam.

2.I-Beam rods are the heaviest and strongest design used where severe boost applications and extreme horsepower is applied. This type of construction is available in steel and aluminum. But I beam has preferable windage characteristics over an H beam though.

3.H-Beam rods are one of the most popular light weight rods. H Beam design is used for almost all applications except severe boosted extreme horsepower engines.

4.However, most people choose the H beam due to weight and strength characteristics. We’re not saying H is stronger than I, but you can have a lighter H that is just as strong as the I beam!(Most of the circle track guys like the H beam rods for one reason: They will distort more gradually before breaking, often saving thousands of dollars in machine work. If a rod breaks, it takes the block, cam, etc. with it. I have seen sprint cars twist an H beam and finish the race.)

5.A beams are for lower horsepower applications that require a very light rod. This type of construction is only available in steel.

6.X beam rods, while being strong design, tend to be very heavy, as if they are lightened, they become weak.
